Darrell and Tamara take over first place and in the process roost David out of first place for the first time this year. Darrell has a decent 8 of 12 week, while Tamara has an excellent 10 of 12. David relinquishes the lead but still stands within striking distance, one game out of first place. Larry's 9 of 12 week jumps him into third place, three games off the lead. Roni holds down fourth place with a 7 of 12 week. Albert's sub .500 week plummets him into fifth place. Chad/Justin rebound from last weeks and now have there sights set on Albert's fifth place. Ki actually picks this week and displays the greatest week-to-week improvement 7.8% to 75%.
Quote of the week - "Dave is weak now... I must strike." (Darrell)

For the seventh week in a row David occupies first place; however, this week he has a visitor - Darrell. Darrell's 9 of 13 week allows him to share a piece of first place. Tamara stays in third place and moves one game closer to the top (2 games out of first place). Roni stays in fourth place four games out of first place (Did you check out the Raiders helmet?). Larry sneaks past Albert to take a share of fourth place. Albert falls back into fifth place with an 8 of 13 week. Chad/Justin slip one more game and now stand 11 games back. Ki fails to pick again and unfortunatly visiting teams win only 1 of 13 games this week (almost saw our first 0%).
Quote of the week - "... Is the NFC East part of a recreation league?" (Darrell)
Runner up "... So, Dallas is at the top of the NFC East, isn't that like being the best Forte Programmer? ..." (Darrell)

David stays on top for the sixth straight week by correctly choosing 7 of the 13 games. Darrell holds onto second place and creeps within two games of David. Tamara's 9 of 13 week allows her to remain in third place only three games behind David. Roni breaks loose from the middle of the pack and her 9 of 13 week has her four games out of first place. Albert and Larry start the week tied for fourth place and end the week tied for fifth place, six games out of first place. The Chad/Justin team bombs-out with a sub 50% effort (6 of 13). Ki fails to pick this week and the default picks (visiting teams) only net him a 4 of 13 (30.8%).
Quote of the week - "How 'bout them Raiders? They're in 1st place in the NFC East!!" (Roni) - ed. ...hey, your right!
Runner up - "... I forgot I had a lunch scheduled with the VP of my division yesterday. I wrote it in my planner but I was too busy to look in it ..." (Albert) - ed. ... too busy studying NFL injury reports and power ratings, no doubt.

Ouch! Top percentage for the week: 66.7% by two showdown members (Darrell and Chad/Justin). David still holds onto the top spot by three game with a respectable 7 of 12 effort (58.3%). Darrell's good week propels him into second place, only three games behind David. Tamara cracks under the pressure with her worst week yet (33.3%), but she still manages to hold onto third place. Roni, Albert, and Larry gather at fourth place, six game back (so close, yet so far). The Chad/Justin team completes another impressive week and pulls their 'games back' value into single digits. Ki still occupies eigth place.
Quote of the week - "... Who do they bribe to get their schedule?" (David) - ed: David commenting on the soft niner's schedule - It could be easier (i.e. more NFC East opponents)

David proves he is fallible this week with a 7 for 13 effort (53.8%); However, his lead was so large from last week that he retains first place by two games. Tamara has a very good week and occupies second place. Darrell takes sole possession of third with a decent performance. Roni sits in fourth by choosing 9 of 13 games correctly (69.2%). Larry has dismal week (53.8), but he can't really complain since his Steelers won. Albert stays in sixth place by choosing 61.5% of week 4 games correctly. Chad & Justin have an outstanding week as they move from 13 games back last week to only 10 games back this week. Ki duplicates his 8 of 13 games from last week (61.5%) and begins his trek to the top.
Quote of the week - "... when the hawks go 4-0 its time to become a New Orleans fan." (Darrell) - ed. A saint he ain't. What about when the Saints go 4-0?

David records the first perfect week and extends his lead over Tamara by four games, Congratulations David. Tamara stays in second and her Jets post their first win of the season. Darrell and Larry both have a good week, but this week it is only good enough to keep them tied for third place. Roni and Albert hold onto fourth and stay within striking distance. Chad & Justin, a combination effort and the newest addition to the Showdown, have a good week and bring up fifth place. Ki has a rough week and stays in the cellar.
Quote of the week - "So, I bit the big one last week. I am, however, convinced I can do worse" (Darrell) - ed. were waiting...

David stands alone on top, for the second week in a row he picks 11 of
15 games correct, let's all give David a big Denver salute, ouch!. Tamara sneaks
into second place with a very good 12 of 15 games correct, but her Jets have
yet to win a game. Darrell, Albert, and Larry tie up third place. Roni snaps
up fourth and her Raiders win, let's see, thats 1 down 3 to go, right? Ki fails
to pick and pays the price with only 5 of 15 correct.
Quote of the week - "Alright Marvin!" (Tamara)- Marvin Washington, tackled Troy Aikman. (ed. The Doctors say Aikman broken clavical should heal in 4 to 8 weeks)

David and Darrell start the year (as usual) on top with a respectable 73.3% (... by the way Darrell, I am still trying to locate that Cleveland / Los Angeles score, I'll keep you posted). Roni leads the third place pack with 57.1%, her Raider lose but on the up-side she gets quote of the week. Tamara and Larry round out third place. Albert holds onto fourth place (and his niners win!). Ki takes fifth with 42.9%
Quote of the week - "What kind of two bit operation is this?" (Roni) - ed. when she discovered that this pool contains no money.
